Superman: The Music (1978-1988) is an 8-disc box set of (now limited to about 3,000 copies) of the complete musical scores of the Christopher Reeve Superman films. It includes music by John Williams for Superman: The Movie, which was adapted by Ken Throne for Superman II and Superman III, and Alexander Courage for Superman IV: The Quest For Peace. The box set also includes a lot of extras, including a whole CD of Jon Rones’ work for the 1988 Superman cartoon. As if the music weren’t enough, the box set also has a glossy, 160 page hardcover book on the complete musical history of the 1988 Superman cartoon and the four Superman movies. The book was written by Jeff Elridge, Kendall, and Matessino and also includes rare and detailed interviews with musicians who were responsible for making the musical score of the films, including Ken Thorne, John Williams, and Richard Donnor.
