It’s official – Smallville will not only get an early renewal, Season 7 will also get 20 episodes and the show is definitely going to have an eight season. Sometime early February, The CW decided to make five more episodes of Smallville, giving the seventh season a total of twenty episodes. Episode 13 of the current season (entitled “Hero”) was aired in March, followed by “Traveler” that stars Gina Holden as Patricia Swann. The fifteenth episode, Veritas, aired soon after that.
According to reports from The New York Times, the new episodes will air on April 17. Episode 18 will be featuring James Marters as the BRAIN Interactive Construct.
Most of Smallville’s original cast will be reappearing in the eight season, but the final lineup won’t be released until May. According to Steve Younis, Kristin Kreuk, who plays Lana Lang, will appear for part of the season, but producers still need to undergo negotiations with fan favorite Allison Mack and Michael Rosenbaum.
